My Advive,,or footnotes,,Parents when your child does a project, paper,or read,,find a common topic, that will be re-visted every time the child to write a paper,,book report,,or fun reading,,the Point is every time, the child advances in eduaction,,using a topic's of interest will just be up dating/re-wring the same papers,,and devople a libary of Books towards their major. So as early as possible can/could be a teacher's Aid,in that topic.
2.Always ask, after all the others leave the room,,is that any project 4 extra credit.and talent the extra credit work,,towards your Favoite angle towards your Topic. Had a freind at Oakland Univ,,grad with a 4.2 using this tactics.
3 try 2 save some of your schools books,,some will great reference books, and you have read and know where to find the infro. easier to know and have the book with answers.
4.always get your books as early as possible,,so you can read those books many times, and do all the busy work ,at the end of each chapter, save the answer,I dound it easier to understand the lectures.

The question of cameras to spy on workers at General Motors was always a concern, General Motors said: cameras only at the doors, and some common areas,,never locker rooms, work places,or parking lots,,certified by union and managerment.
So, as normal, I was ready, shown them 10 cameras found in the areas,,"told' there was no cameras,,the statment was changed and explained those/these cameras' were the security firm's,Not General Motors
So with all the planned meetings, wonder if these rooms are miked.or bugged.
with the many slip and fall accidents,or possible lawsuits,,manys cameras installed 4 safety reasons.

for the record JIM BURNs will NOT shake my hand,,must of taken some of "what" I said personal, and 4 got what JIM BURNs does,is my topic, not the person. I have great regards for anyone dumb enough to step in the PUBLIC area,,and make things happen, then I have my right,to constructively make a comment.
MY area,in the union was self made health and safety person which closed plants at times, over these issuses..non-union supported, but becaame actionable, once exposed.
JIM BURNs..I know loves his Job,,works tirelessly on litter picks,,comes to many city council meets in TROY's and others trying to kept,,his voters informed.and has a TV program,,which I been trying to get one of OUR Troy councilpersons to do or at least a editorial in a localpaper every week.
JIm burns,,could have TRUSTED the people around too much,or JIM BURNs might be a great worker, but dumb as a rock in picking people, but as this guy is DEMoCRATs,Democrats seem to use JUDGES as guides,,so it's back to the court s,,to define a rule.

Troy is divided in2 4 differ county districts,so have at least 4 differ republican and democrats groups.plus associated other parties in some area of TROY,and NOT on others.some voters "vote in another cities schools districts,,some are in TROY's.
Since TROY never care how many people can live in a house,,TROY is very much a guess, exactly the correct numbers of voters in TROY are anytime.?as a ride along with appraisers,,sometimes we counted many bed rolls in some HOUSes In TRoy.as my dad said,,in Detroit,,he grew up with at least 3 families in his House,he slept on the floor in the living room.
Since JOBs are drying up..the large familes of TROY r coming back,,and TROY will be changed BACK,,to the fishes, birds, and wild-life,,and many will feel hurt, but TRoY is TURNing GREEN..and it's said, one GREEN job takes two carbon based jobs,SO TROY is the deciding city which direction, this state willGO, so having the convention is TROY's honor.

Wow, just came back from the 2010 Jambo with my son and 41 years later the memories come flooding back for the 1969 Jamboree. I am still amazed how many from the 1969 Jambo took part in the 2010 as adult leaders or staff. 4 in out San Diego council alone. I was in the contingent out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1969 and I remember very well watching the TV at one of the TP on July 21 with the first moon walk. Let's talk about the ice cold showers, OMG those were COLD! The hike up the mountain and the view from the top, the bus ride to and from the Jambo and where all of my patch trading started. How about the LONG march to the campfire with all of those red jackets.

I still wear my 1969 Jamboree patch on my scout uniform and proudly wear the "Building to Serve" rocker with it.

I agree. These people are so much in a hurry for getting rid of the constitution. There is no, this group is under the constitution and all others aren't. If the mosque is not able to be built then this is the beginning of the end for religious liberty for all religions, not to mention other civil liberties.
If the First Amendment doesn't apply to the Muslims then maybe it shouldn't apply to the Mennonites and then some other group and before long the First Amendment is a nice string of words that have no application.

If the Mosque is built, then the terrorists who did this massacre are going to consider this as a victory of jihad and this is something which nobody can deny. The need of the hour is a Win Win solution which I think is:-

Our fellow muslims brothers should move to a new location which has the same accessibility as that of the current proposed location

And

Let our few Americans give a helping hand in finding the new location and provide all possible support in builing at the new location.

If we do this, the muslim brothers act will send a strong message to the Terrorist organisations, that the american muslims sacrificed the location as a symbol of denial on terrorism in the name of Jihad

And by helping them the americans will prove that they respect the bliefs of all religion and they are not against muslim community.

Let there be Peace…Dalit

I found another excellent article by Schulman titled, "<a href="http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/016/533narty.asp" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">The Worst Thing About Gay Marriage - It isn't going to work</a>." From the article, here's an excellent quote...
<p style="padding-left:30px;">Can gay men and women be as generous as we straight men are? Will you consider us as men who love, just as you do, and not merely as homophobes or Baptists? Every day thousands of ordinary heterosexual men surrender the dream of gratifying our immediate erotic desires. Instead, heroically, resignedly, we march up the aisle with our new brides, starting out upon what that cad poet Shelley called the longest journey, attired in the chains of the kinship system--a system from which you have been spared. Imitate our self-surrender. If gay men and women could see the price that humanity--particularly the women and children among us--will pay, simply in order that a gay person can say of someone she already loves with perfect competence, "Hey, meet the missus!"--no doubt they will think again. If not, we're about to see how well humanity will do without something as basic to our existence as gravity.</p>

Just another example of an irresponsible Congress and President, more concerned with padding the wallets of their friends than righting our economic ship. Peters and Granholm should be ashamed of themselves for spinning this union payoff bill as being "for the children"! Our kids would be much better off if they weren't being saddled with a $13 trillion debt that will undoubtedly diminish their standard of living in the future.

In all seriousness Dave, I thought that the article was nonsense. Yes, I agree that living creatures do not give birth to rocks, sane people to not appoint their livestock to be ambassadors and, with the exception of the great state of West Virginia, human beings cannot be blood relatives to canines. However, none of these factors provide Mr. Schulman with a coherent argument against same-sex marriage. The author attempts to define the importance of marriage as being, essentially, indefinable. To list the various benefits and trapping of a marriage, such as “love and monogamous sex and establishing a home, fidelity, childbearing and childrearing, stability, inheritance, tax breaks, and all the rest,” and then claim that these are not the same as marriage is like claiming that mortar, bricks, lumber, shingles and drywall are not the same as a house. Well of course they’re not the same as the house, but when you skillfully combine all of those elements you create one. Likewise, a meaningful marriage would cease to exist in the absence of most of those essential elements listed by Mr. Schulman. If his “secular” argument revolves around defining marriage as some sort of mystical Elmer’s glue that binds together our humanity, I fail to see how denying consenting adults access to this ethereal entity, which he implies provides a pathway to become more human, advances our society. Finally, with regards to his passing reference to “the potential unhappiness of children,” I would remind him that us heterosexual folk have been subjecting our children to plenty of actualized unhappiness for millennia. Why shouldn’t we let someone else in on all the fun?

Thanks for your comments Glenn. I always appreciate good humor! Just a couple of comments in response. For those atheists out there, Mr. Schulman does refer to the “primal soup.” Also, I would be fairly safe in assuming that Mr. Schulman is well acquainted with Caligula’s horsey Consul. Otherwise I don’t think he would have said, “…I cannot make my horse my consul.” I would paraphrase his words to say that just because the Emperor has the power to appoint a horse to serve as Consul doesn’t mean that he has overturned the laws of nature.

Finally! I want to thank you for bringing to our attention Mr. Schulman’s secular argument against gay marriage. I especially liked how the author used the phrases that "Marriage is what connects us to our creator" and "The gods move very fast when they bring ruin on misguided men" to bolster his position without relying on subjective religious claptrap. Despite how impressed I was with the writer's reasoning, I would be remiss in failing to mention a minor problem with his central argument. Despite his assertion to the contrary, one can be a father to a pebble. I myself have birthed several kidney stones in the recent past and I can assure you, it’s a life changing experience. Second, Mr. Schulman might want to be a little more meticulous when researching the career possibilities of his horse. Apparently, ancient Roman law was quite liberal when it came to the appointment of consuls. The Roman historian Cassius Dio documented that Caligula was in the process of installing his horse Incitatus as consul, but was assassinated before he could do it. Fortunately for Incitatus, he had previously been granted full citizenship and named to the Roman senate so he was not left without a livelihood. Anyway, keep up the good work Dave.

I am watching Mike Rowe at the opening ceremony of the BSA 100th Anniversary Jamboree and reflecting on my trip to Farragut ID in the summer of '69. Remember huddling around our picnic table listening to the landing and then seeing the replay of those first lunar steps with 30,000 others on the big screen.

As I run across others in my adult life who attended, I am proud that without exception (so far anyway) all have turned out quite all right.
